We’ve seen great, exciting matches played by Zigi vs k1ck on three maps, streamed by holysh1t.net, at 22:00 / 09.01.09. Was this just a regular QL-game tonight, or did we see the first sparkles of the push-forward coming up for the final win for Zigi? I’m here to ask the team about tonight’s rough game, and their predictions for their own future matches.
Hello guys. Congratulations for your win against k1ck in EMS5 playoffs LB. Were you confident enough to know for sure, you are going to win?
Gandhi: I knew that it will be a close match, I thought that we will win with a bigger difference on dm20 tho. We have to give respect to our opponents, k1ck consists of fine players so its an honor to play them. Doing this way is important for me, but only after the match is played.
dash: I wasn’t sure, especially because I didn’t play for a week before the game, and had hardware issues and stuff. I knew we’ll have a hard time, but we can win. K1ck played well, they moved together, had control on items, despite the lack of practise, but they missed a lots of quad, and they had to pay the price : ).
feeder: Thank you! We all knew k1ck with their best lineup is really strong, but we believed in ourselves. I wasn’t so confident, I thought it would be a really close game that could go either way. This time, however, we had the better teamwork.
zolee: Thanks, tbh I am a bit disapointed cuz i was pretty sure we gonna win by doubled score. We made pretty good teamwork tho, which in these kinda situations brings us up to other level and makes us more experienced.
How can you describe your teamwork?
Gandhi: Well, playing quake is a life on learning, you can never be good enough, sure I made some mistakes, but I was giving up again my egomaniac, pacman style. By the way I dont really like these kind of questions, cause as a team we rise or fall together. Sure, we have some thoughts about what should be made different, these issues are inside topics. On dm7 we stepped to a level of teamplay I can live happily with.
dash: On dm6, we are still testing who could fit the RA position, I played it today, was kinda new for me, and didn’t work out well. I guess I should do more support on the bridge when I have stack, and not just sitting and defending the RA, if they don’t even attack it. We’ll work on it : ). dm20 was different, because zsx and garpy were tried to hold the YA/MH area. I played 2v1, almost all the time, I used to play more comfortable there, but I guess I did well, dm20 worked out best for me today. dm7 was flawless, I had a good timing on MH, others on RA, and we didn’t late from quads.
feeder: We try to control all the main items and the crucial areas of the map. The rest are secret! : P
zolee: There is np with teamworks. The only one thing is we weren’t sure whom shoud stay on red on dm6, but from now on it seems I will keep undercontrol the red armor with my best.
Is this lineup fixed, or is it enemy- and map-related?
Gandhi: Its not fixed at all, noone has a fixed spot in the lineup. There is no imperator among us who decides about this.
dash: Still testing, I think it’ll be map-related. We’ll see.
feeder: I wouldn’t say it’s fixed, it depends who is available for a match. Yesterday we had 5 players available though, so it was really difficult to decide who played. I have to say s7ry could have easily played based solely upon his skill, he only needs to improve on timing. : >
zolee: Absolutely not. s7ry would able to jump in on any map against any enemy, he just needs to deal with his temperature a bit – no offence.
Did you do a lot of practice for this clash? Who did you train against to keep your levels up?
Gandhi: We played versus Finland a lot and tried out several tactics to get effective. As you get better and better you get a harder time to get opponents for practise, we like to play versus eldvakt and FRONT too.
dash: We played a few against Finland’s national team, but that’s all. I didn’t even play this week, had to focus on my exams.
feeder: We practised a bit, not only for this clash, but also for Nations Cup. We had a few matches against Team Finland, Team Serbia, Front, etc. Thanks for all of them for preparing us!
zolee: I do play much anyway so wasnt really practising for this. Finns.
Dm20 was really tough. The value of one frag is priceless. What happens in the last minute of a situation like this?
Gandhi: I was shouting at 19:20 like „we cannot loose this map too.” Then went into frenzy and made a few important frags.
dash: That’s easy, teams were tied, and I scored the winning frag as usual ; D.
feeder: That was epic! Dash shouted „We won’t lose ffs” and we didn’t! We can’t really do much apart from focusing 100% on game and fragging as many people as we can in the end.
zolee: Gandhi and Dash could tell more, I was just doing my best, as any of us.
How is the mood on ventrilo on this kind of occasions?
Gandhi: Well I have started to berserk, didnt even know the scores, when the game was over first I thought that we were beaten by k1ck with 1 frag.
dash: The roof was on fire! I stayed calm like the little Buddha : ).
feeder: We just motivate each other, saying things like „C’mon, we can do it!”.
zolee: If I am about to make frag, I keep silence, only talking in very corner situations.
What do you predict your next enemy will be?
Gandhi: We want to play against Lowlandlions.
dash: LowLandLions
feeder: LLL
zolee: LLL
How do you imagine your march-forward @EMS5?
Gandhi: We have the potential to beat everyone who crosses our ways. We will see.
dash: We’ll win the season, it’ll be fun, to watch them bend on their knees. Just watch!
feeder: Well, all the upcoming matches are quite unpredictable. I’m already satisfied with top6, but we’ll surely do our best to place even higher.
zolee: With a liltle bit of luck we are capable to play a grand final, and I mean it!
If you had to choose one word to describe game tonight, which one pops up in your mind first?
Gandhi: AverageTeamer
dash: Entertainment
feeder: Cauldron!
zolee: GANDHI (too obvious)
Thank you for your time and for the great entertainment you served us tonight. Good luck & Have fun!

Location: Vác, Hungary. The factory’s history began in 1931, when a shipyard was built in Vác. Ideal place with 1400A industrial current and huge areas are the main advantages for us. Area: 5500 Square Meters. Due to the old function and it’s history we have to renovate and rearrange the place, which is nearly at the end. What does it mean? We must redecorate the arena, retool the industrial current and drag out the 5 kilometres UTP cables. During the tournaments there may be some technical problems, that is why we offer outdoor and indoor activities such us sisha smoking, playing darts/biliard/EA Games, drinking alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in our bars and so one…
The teams will play in a rotating system. In this manner everybody can relax between the matches and have enough time to take part on some of our other activities such as product shows by D-Link, exploring the city or the whole event. According to the games, you will found a smaller and a bigger rooms where you will play: For the smaller games (less then 20 teams in a game) you get the smaller rooms, and a bigger one for CoD and CS.
It is important to talk about security. In the building the organisers bring special safety, fire and accidental rules into force. The most important rule is: in an old shipyard some of the passages and rooms will be closed for the participants. Please do NOT enter there. Of course signs will be warn you!
The problem looks like its solved, please try to log in and change your password immediately. Thank you.
